Welcoming Mister Atticus {Lakewood, CO Birth Photographer}

Image of a birthing suite.

As Atticus rounds on his six month birthday, I figured it was probably time to actually blog his birth. This whole experience was amazing: watching a team who knew exactly what to do, because they’ve done it four times before. Dave was a solid pillar of support, and was always one step ahead with the next thing. By the time we were all at the birth center, Liz was already in transition, and sweet little boy was on his way.

What felt like both forever and a short time later, and a whole lot of work on this amazing mama’s part, sweet Atticus came into the world, tiny, calm, and wide-eyed.

Welcoming Windsy

Sweet baby girl: the one, very obvious, thing I know is: you are well and truly loved. I am endlessly grateful that families allow me into their homes to photograph this sweet time in their lives, because there is nothing else like it.

Welcoming Baby Emma [Highlands Ranch Newborn Photographer]

Dear Miss Emma, You darling little lady… you made my job so easy! You curled up, sleepy as could be wherever you were set, whatever you were (or weren’t) wearing and whomever was holding you. You are truly the sweetest a teeny newborn could be. Your big sister was so confident and steady with you! Your big brother was curious and excited. You make the most darling trio of siblings. And your mama? Oh how she loves all three of you! You are one loved little baby.

A mini-session for the VanDriel family [Lakewood Family Photographer]

When I tell you that these are some of my favorite people ever, it is all truth. Mark is one of my husband’s oldest friends, was in our wedding, and loves our girls like family. In fact, he is “Uncle” Mark in our family. When Aunt Erika joined the family, we were not only thrilled that Mark found someone that he adores, but, yes, selfishly, we were thrilled that we adore her, too. And now, sweet Ellie has joined the crew. Unfortunately, we are separated by half a country most of the year, so when one of our favorite families came back for a visit, we absolutely had to grab our own bit of the golden hour and take a few photos. They bring joy to each and every one of their interactions, and it’s one of the many reasons I love them.

The Bieker Family [Evergreen Family Photographer]

One of the fun parts of return customers (other than the fact that I love that you trust me to continue photographing your family) is seeing all of the amazing things that can change in between shoots. Liz and Tyler’s wedding was five years ago in Kansas, and since then they have had a set of gorgeous twins and one more darling little boy. Their family is just as joyful as I remember them on that wedding day, and I truly loved getting to spend the evening with them before they headed off to their mountain adventures.
